Where tuition usually goes wrong here
The Mumbai-specific problem in Class 11 and 12 is that HSC and MHT-CET are not the same exam even though they are the same syllabus. HSC rewards a written answer; MHT-CET is an objective paper against the clock, weighted towards Class 12, and a student who has only practised board-style answers walks into it slower than they should be. A teacher who has taught both knows where the two part company — which is usually in how much of Class 11 you are allowed to forget.
Below that, Mumbai families are often choosing between SSC and ICSE for the same child, and the two boards reward different habits: ICSE asks for length and language, SSC for precision against a specific textbook.
